Amsterdam Dance Event completed the program with more than 2900 artists and 1000 events

Applications are open for the seventh " Ambassador " award of the e lectronic scene for the top musical achievements of Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenia. This year, the public applications of projects and candidates , have been returned again. The expert jury, which fills in the pre-nomination lists and proposes projects, will once again have a great influence in compiling the nominations. The jury is made up of renowned players in the music industry, and consists of over 80 experts from Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Applications are open until 15.10. at 11:59 p.m., and the nominations will be announced on Tuesday, October 24. New short documentary covers its past, present and future Berlin's Tresor is one of the oldest and most popular techno institutions that celebrates its 32nd birthday in 2023.  On the occasion of the birthday, Resident Advisor prepared a new short documentary film "Tresor: A Story of Survival".  The documentary explores the club's influence on Berlin's cultural landscape, and the founder of Tresor, Dimitri Hegemann, reveals more about it.    Tresor 2013. The documentary features interviews with Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Miss Kittin and many other important actors from the electronic scene.  The European public service dedicated to culture ARTE published a feature-length documentary about the life of French DJ Laurent Garnier.  The story of the life, work and actions of the legendary Frenchman is called "Off the Record", was filmed between 2017 and 2019 and was originally released in cinemas in France in 2021, and was directed by Gabin Rivoire.  "Off the Record" in its ninety minutes brings an exclusive interview with Garnier, who reveals details from his childhood, youth, his first musical steps and the experience he gained in his long career.  The story of the legendary DJ is complemented by in-depth interviews with various greats of electronic music such as Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Miss Kittin and others.  You can watch the documentary for free on ARTE's online platform by clicking HERE . Study of electronic music: 20% live from the industry; 35% earn part-time; 45% have no income

In its comprehensive survey of the electronic music industry, the International Music Summit presented interesting statistics and results  Among the numerous creators, DJs, producers and other actors of the electronic scene, only 20% of them can make a living from the industry. 35% of them earn part-time from electronic music, while 45% of actors have no income from the industry.  One thing that connects them all is that electronic music is not just a hobby for them, but a real passion from which they want to create a career and earn money. Investigating the statistics in more detail, IMS discovered that the average earnings of creators in electronic music is slightly less than 9,500 US dollars annually, while in some other music industries it amounts to several thousand dollars more.  Almost 47% of that income comes from streaming platforms, and 34% of respondents revealed that they had an increase in income compared to last year.  As for the problems and challenges that musicians

 A new documentary explores how the techno genre spread from Detroit to Berlin, which is today's epicenter of techno. The film features interviews with some of the most significant figures from the early days of the techno scene: Juan Atkins, Alan Oldham (DJ T-1000), Ellen Allien, and Tresor founder Dimitri Hegemann. Additionally, archival footage of interviews with DJ Detroit and Paul van Dyk also make appearances.  For those who might raise concerns about the omission of some pioneers of the scene, primarily Kraftwerk , it's important to note that the film's focus is squarely on techno and the Detroit-Berlin relationship. BLOND:ISH releases a 100% biodegradable plastic-free vinyl album

BLOND:ISH releases the most sustainable vinyl record in the world  The Canadian DJ and producer has released a fully compostable compilation album "Plastic Free Party" made from bacteria.  Developed in collaboration with sustainable collective Evolution Music and vinyl pressing factory Deepgrooves, the compilation uses PHAs, which act as bacterial plastic mimics.  The Canadian non-profit organization Bye Bye Plastics points out that traditional vinyl records are the music medium with the most intense emissions, generating 12 times more greenhouse gases than other music media.  There is no compromise when it comes to sound quality According to the press release, the board will only begin to degrade after prolonged exposure to moisture or if left unprotected in a natural environment. Over 1,500 DJs from around the world have signed a petition to remove single-use plastic from the music industry

The movement, called Bye Bye Plastic, was founded by Vivie-Ann Bakos, also known as Blond:ish, and has gained support from well-known DJs such as Richie Hawtin, Honey Dijon, and Pete Tong, among others. The initiative aims to eliminate the use of plastic in DJ booths and has been named "#PlasticFreeParty".  DJs who signed the petition have pledged to adhere to the rule that prohibits the use of single-use plastic in the DJ booth. Founder Vivie-Ann Bakos says that change is driven by movements and that music is the secret ingredient in creating such movements.  She believes that music can bind and unite people, and that it should be used for infinite good.  This movement is part of a larger trend in the music industry, with festivals around the world launching initiatives to reduce the use of plastic packaging.  Ibiza, known for setting trends in the industry, has also started taking steps towards reducing single-use plastic. At the end of September 1992, the legendary British band's debut album The Prodigy Experience was released.
