The International Music Summi t recently published its annual report on the electronic music industry in May. According to the findings, electronic music represents 39% of festivals, marking a 6% increase in bookings compared to 2021. However, when examining the Top 100 DJs, female DJs accounted for only 15% of bookings and events, reflecting a 6% decline from 2021. In terms of total bookings, female DJs experienced a remarkable growth of 199% in terms of the number of guests. Although this growth is noteworthy, it still falls short when compared to male DJs, who achieved a 344% increase in bookings and hits.
