Guess what? The legendary track “Breathe” by The Prodigy just got a fresh new dub twist!  The talented Egoless , also known as Ognjen Zečević, has dropped two dub versions of this iconic song.  The release comes under the British label Deep Medi Musik , which also put out his 2023 album “Dubternal” . If you didn’t know, “Breathe” was originally released in 1996 on The Prodigy’s album The Fat of the Land . But here’s a cool fact – the song was first performed live in Belgrade on December 8, 1995! It was the first big concert there after the breakup of Yugoslavia, and the track became a symbol of freedom for many who grew up in the ‘90s. The famous electronic music duo, Underworld , recently performed at the world-famous Sydney Opera House, a true architectural masterpiece. The music community, like many others, has been deeply affected by the devastating wildfires in Southern California. Thousands of people, including many artists, have lost their homes and livelihoods. The French music streaming service Deezer has launched a brand-new tool to detect songs made by artificial intelligence!   Every day, about 10,000 songs created entirely by AI are uploaded to Deezer. That’s a lot! Last Friday, January 24, Deezer announced that around 10% of all new songs on the platform are AI-generated. To help fans and artists, they’ve created a special tool that can spot AI-made music from different types of AI models.   Deezer’s CEO, Alexis Lanternier, said they are proud of this new technology because it will bring more transparencyto the music industry. In the future, they plan to label AI-generated songs and remove them from recommendations, so real artists don’t get overshadowed.   AI music is growing fast, but Deezer is making sure fans can tell what’s real and what’s not!

One of Berlin’s most famous clubs, Watergate , has officially closed its doors after 22 years of unforgettable nights. But even though the club is gone, its legacy will live on—thanks to a unique tombstone in front of its former home. The memorial was set up last week on Falckensteinstraße, near the Spree River, where Watergate stood for over two decades. The stone is engraved with the words “Watergate 2002 – 2024” as a tribute to the club’s influence on Berlin’s electronic music scene. It honors the city’s vibrant, diverse, and forward-thinking club culture. This special tribute was created by an anonymous Berlin group called Steinzeit.alter (or Stone Age in English). This group is known for placing memorials at closed cultural spaces throughout the city. Burning Man has recently unveiled the design for its new temple, “Temple of the Deep,” created by Spanish architect Miguel Arraiz. Standing approximately 13.4 meters tall and spanning a diameter of around 32 meters , the temple draws inspiration from the ancient volcanic rocks of the surrounding Black Rock Desert landscape. The design merges natural and futuristic elements to create a space for communal reflection and healing . The temple symbolizes strength and fragility , exploring themes of light and darkness , the personal and the collective, and the importance of honoring our life journeys. Tresor.West from Dortmund is calling for support and launching free “ Community Nights ” to refocus on the underground. Tresor.West is offering free entry to its parties on Saturdays throughout January in Dortmund to return to its roots in the underground .  The sister club of the legendary Berlin institution opened in 2019 within a historic factory building.  Despite early success, on Friday, January 3, 2025, the team shared a post on Instagram highlighting the “bitter reality” faced by many similar organizations and clubs.  In an effort to increase visitor numbers and emphasize commitment to club culture, the weekly Community Saturdays events will have free entry for the entire month, with the lineup kept secret until each event and a focus on local performers willing to play for reasonable fees. “Clubbing should not be a privilege but must remain accessible,” Tresor.West explained in a statement.  “Instead of focusing on headliners, we are investing in you, shin...

It’s been 30 years since the release of “Beautiful People” , one of the most beloved vocal house hits of all time. Featured on the iconic Strictly Rhythm album , this track remains a timeless classic.  Barbara Tucker, the incredible voice behind the song, recently shared the story of how this anthem came to life. The song was written by Barbara Tucker, India, and Lem Springsteen, and produced by the legendary duo Louie Vega and Kenny Dope. Interestingly, Vega also used a vocal loop from the track for his project Hardrive, which later became the famous “Deep Inside” in 1993. In an interview, Tucker shared how she first met “Little Louie” Vega in New York during the 1980s.  She spoke about the inspiration behind the uplifting lyrics of “Beautiful People” and shared fun behind-the-scenes stories about filming for Top of the Pops and the music videos.
