Famous Scottish Techno Festival Announces Return to Croatia: Artists from Around the World on Four Stages

Last year’s first edition of the Scottish festival Terminal V created a big buzz among fans and media alike. Now, the famous techno festival is gearing up for its second Croatian edition, returning to its summer home in Tisno . From July 17th to 21st , get ready for five days of techno music at The Garden Resort , featuring a lineup of global artists, four open-air stages, dance floors by the beach, and private relaxation areas right by the sea. Berlin Techno Culture Receives UNESCO Heritage Status

UNESCO officially recognizes Berlin’s techno culture as part of Germany’s intangible cultural heritage! On October 22, a special ceremony was held in a magnificent baroque palace called Biebrich, located in Wiesbaden, Germany. UNESCO officially recognized Berlin’s techno culture as part of Germany’s intangible cultural heritage! This means that Berlin’s techno music and dance culture is now recognized as an important cultural treasure. The ceremony began at 4 p.m. and was attended by many important personalities. Timon Gremmels from the German Ministry of Culture, Christoph Wulf and Marlen Meißner from UNESCO in Germany were present, along with Antje Reppe, an advisor from the cultural heritage research center. Research: For most partygoers, recording videos is more important than enjoying the moment

A new study on phone use at parties was conducted ahead of the Amsterdam Dance Event and Barry Can’t Swim, where mobile phones were banned. “Remember when dancing meant moving your feet, not your toes?” – that’s the opening line of the research conducted by Heineken, which has joined the fight for mobile-free dance floors in “action”. According to the research, 60% of Gen Z and millennials who use smartphones in the UK, US and the Netherlands think they would enjoy concerts more if they could disconnect from their devices. More worryingly, 55% of respondents admitted that recording the performance is more important to them than being present in the moment, although only 13% of them said they rarely review the recordings they have made. Nominations for the Electronic Music Award "Ambassador" have been announced

With the announcement of nominations in 35 categories of Croatia and the region, the voting of the audience and the jury for the best achievements in electronic music in 2024 also started. Croatia: Greenlight Collective is preparing a record fair in Rijeka's Art-kvart on 29. JUN 2024.

On Saturday, June 29, Greenlight Collective , in cooperation with the Rijeka City Library, Croatia, organizes an informal daily gathering in the form of a record fair in the courtyard of the Art-kvart and the premises of the Children's Library, as part of the new event Summer Story from Benčić!   The record fair, of course, has an emphasis on electronic music, and as the collective says, the reason for this is to "bring it a little closer and demystify it to society that may not often go to "underground" events. " There will be opportunities to find other genres, thanks to the exhibitors who will come to the fair. The fair starts at 3 p.m. and lasts until 9 p.m. , and in addition to researching records and pleasant conversation with all present, Greenlight Collective is also preparing a couple of relaxed sets by local DJs who will have the opportunity to present their taste and selection.  Of the 100 best festivals according to DJ Mag, as many as 11 of them come from our region  Croatia and Serbia. The magazine about the electronic music scene , DJ MAG , published the annual top list of the best festivals as chosen by their readers. The best festival according to DJ Mag in 2024 is Tomorrowland . The Belgian festival thus secured the title of the best for the third year in a row and for the fourth time in history, since DJ Mag has been awarding the best festivals.  The American festival EDC Last Vegas is in second place, and the new mega festival located in Transylvania, Romania's Untold is in third place. Female DJs have experienced significant growth, but men still dominate the industry

The International Music Summi t recently published its annual report on the electronic music industry in May.  The rise of electronic music on various online platforms, and the industry's record-breaking value exceeding 11 billion dollars.  According to the findings, electronic music represents 39% of festivals, marking a 6% increase in bookings compared to 2021.  However, when examining the Top 100 DJs, female DJs accounted for only 15% of bookings and events, reflecting a 6% decline from 2021.  In terms of total bookings, female DJs experienced a remarkable growth of 199% in terms of the number of guests.  Although this growth is noteworthy, it still falls short when compared to male DJs, who achieved a 344% increase in bookings and hits. BLOND:ISH releases a 100% biodegradable plastic-free vinyl album

BLOND:ISH releases the most sustainable vinyl record in the world  The Canadian DJ and producer has released a fully compostable compilation album "Plastic Free Party" made from bacteria.  Developed in collaboration with sustainable collective Evolution Music and vinyl pressing factory Deepgrooves, the compilation uses PHAs, which act as bacterial plastic mimics.  The Canadian non-profit organization Bye Bye Plastics points out that traditional vinyl records are the music medium with the most intense emissions, generating 12 times more greenhouse gases than other music media.  There is no compromise when it comes to sound quality According to the press release, the board will only begin to degrade after prolonged exposure to moisture or if left unprotected in a natural environment. More than 50 thousand Italians in 6 cities protested against the -Anti-Rave- law
