Francis Grasso: In the late 1960s, Grasso revolutionized DJing in New York by using two turntables to transition between songs. His "beat-matching" technique became the standard in the DJ world.
Kool Herc: This legendary DJ from the Bronx is known as the father of hip-hop. In the 1970s, Herc developed the "breakbeat" technique, which inspired an entire generation of musicians and dance culture.
Wendy Hunt and Annie Nightingale: Wendy Hunt was a pioneer of the disco scene, while Annie Nightingale became the first female DJ on BBC Radio 1. Their work opened doors for women in a male-dominated industry.
