Temple of the Deep: Burning Man 2025’s Temple Inspired by Ancient Volcanic Rocks

Burning Man has recently unveiled the design for its new temple, “Temple of the Deep,” created by Spanish architect Miguel Arraiz. Standing approximately 13.4 meters tall and spanning a diameter of around 32 meters , the temple draws inspiration from the ancient volcanic rocks of the surrounding Black Rock Desert landscape. The design merges natural and futuristic elements to create a space for communal reflection and healing . The temple symbolizes strength and fragility , exploring themes of light and darkness , the personal and the collective, and the importance of honoring our life journeys. During the festival, participants will have the opportunity to experience this stunning structure, offering a sanctuary for contemplation and connection. Temple of Together: Temple of Burning Man for 2024

The design of the Temple of Together at this year's Burning Man by Caroline Ghosn beautifully depicts the light that emerges when we connect with all parts of ourselves and the unity we share with all living beings. The dominant motif in the design is the depiction of two hands joined in prayer, with the flow of the sculpture's energy merging and then erupting upwards. The joining of two hands is a common gesture in almost all spiritual traditions, symbolizing unity, humility and respect. This is literally shown by the two hands forming an arch at the entrance of the name "6:00". The temple is represented more abstractly in the Neo-Gothic pointed arches that are repeated throughout the design, which also recall the layered, geometric shapes and symmetry of the Art Deco style of a century ago.
