British television Channel 4 presents a two-part documentary series called "I Was There When House Took Over the World," which chronologically traces the origins and development of house music.  The documentary series follows how the death of disco led to the creation of the iconic sound of electronic and dance music.  The documentary series is divided into two parts - "House Was Born," which focuses on the social and cultural environment, as well as the historical context that influenced the genre's development, and "House Went Global," which tells the story of how house music conquered the charts and dancefloors worldwide.
