How did you first get into electronic music? Was there a song or artist that inspired you the most?
NIJØ: I started listening to electronic music at a young age because of my dad, who had old tapes of many legends like Carl Cox, Hernan Cataneo, Adam Beyer, and more. A very big inspiration for me was the track La La Land by Green Velvet. You started DJing at just 11 years old!
What made you want to be a DJ so young?
NIJØ: So when I was 11 years old, I loved scratching, and every day after school on my way home, I would do a scratching session on my phone every day.
What’s your favorite thing about playing Melodic Techno and Indie Dance?
NIJØ: My favorite things in Melodic Techno and Indie Dance are the power, rhythm, and groove they have. Indie Dance usually has a lot of psychedelic elements in them, as well as acid basslines that make the bodies move on their own.
Tell us about the setup you use for your performances? Do you have a favorite piece of gear?
NIJØ: So, usually, I play with whatever the club or festival has, but for m,e Pioneer CDJ 2000 Nexus 2 and Pioneer DJM - V10 are my favorite gears to play with.
What’s your opinion about the electronic music scene in Tirana? How is it growing, and what do you love about it?
NIJØ: The electronic scene in Tirana is still growing at a medium speed rate. It's not the fastest, not the slowest, but it's growing gradually. The only thing I love about the scene here in Tirana is the variety of genres that we have here.
Do you have any plans to start producing your own tracks? What kind of sound would you create?
NIJØ: Currently, I'm still learning how to produce because producing is a whole other world from djing, and I've produced some tracks which were mainly mainstream vibe, but now I'm changing my style to Indie Dance with acid basslines
What are your short-term goals for your music career? Any big gigs or projects coming up?
NIJØ: So my short-term plans are to play at UNUM Festival and Beats N' Brunch. And my upcoming gigs are still not announced fully, but I guess we have to wait to see them🙃.
What’s the one thing you hope people feel when they hear your sets?
NIJØ: The only thing that I care about when I record a set for any podcasts is that the people get the message I'm trying to spread through my sounds.
