Watch the forgotten documentary “Techno – the dream sold” from the mid-90s

 A special documentary, almost 30 years after its original release, has returned to YouTube for anyone who wants to watch it.


The documentary “Techno – the dream sold”, made in 1995 by East Germany’s Radio Brandenburg, tells the story of the “rise and fall of the rave generation” through interviews with journalists, music store owners and celebrities of the time, such as Dr. Motte and Jürgen Laarmann.

The documentary tackles topics that are still relevant today, such as self-promotion and selfishness in the electronic music scene. In addition to interesting interviews, this documentary also features a great soundtrack with songs by Leftfield, Joey Beltram, Eric Murillo, Paul van Dyk and Barbara Tucker.
