Electronic music lovers across the region have been met with surprising but carefully explained news — one of Croatia’s most well-known and multi-award-winning festivals, Sonus Croatia, will not take place during the summer of 2026 at Zrće Beach on the island of Pag.
The news was confirmed via the organizers’ official newsletter, which opened with a symbolic message: “This is not goodbye. We’ll see you next year.”
The festival team thanked the audience for their long-standing support, trust, and patience shown throughout all previous editions.
As the main reason for canceling the 2026 edition, the organizers cited issues with a key partner at the current location, which resulted in the loss of two important festival stages — Noa Beach Club and Noa Big Beach.
“Due to the challenges faced by our key partner at the current location, we have lost two essential stages. As a result, we are unable to deliver the festival experience and concept that we planned and that you deserve,” the official statement reads.
The organizers emphasize that without these venues, they cannot maintain the quality and identity by which Sonus Croatia has become recognized across Europe and beyond.
Despite the pause, the Sonus Croatia team stresses that there is no intention to end the festival. On the contrary, 2026 will be used as a period of intensive preparation for a stronger return.
“We are turning a new page and are already working on something bigger, better, and more exciting. A new location is planned for 2027, where we will have the opportunity to further elevate the Sonus experience,” the organizers stated, noting that while the date is not yet confirmed, the next chapter of the festival is being carefully and thoughtfully shaped.
It was also emphasized that Croatia remains a key part of Sonus’ identity, with a clear intention for the festival to continue along the Adriatic coast.
“Croatia remains our spiritual home. We will explore more of its beautiful coastline, while sea salt, community, and our musical ethos remain our core ingredients,” the Sonus Croatia team shared.
Sonus Croatia is therefore entering a short pause, but with a clear vision for its return — ready to continue its story in a new space, with the same musical DNA that has shaped the summer electronic music map of the region and Europe for years.
