Techno still the most popular electronic dance music - the fourth year in a row.
Over the past five years, dance has lost out to hip-hop/rap in the UK. Dance's share almost halved, while hip-hop’s doubled. While dance still has a high share in the UK versus other countries, it has dropped from being third most popular in 2015 to fifth overall in 2019. In contrast, hip-hop/rap has doubled share in the UK over this time, rising from the 4th to 2nd most popular genre.
Electronic Music brands have switched to live streaming in 2020 and raised millions of dollars for good causes.
