Let’s dive in! 🚀🎶
Hi Lekē! Your music has a futuristic vibe. How did your journey with trance music begin, and what inspired your connection to this genre?
Lekë C: My journey with trance music began in a simple yet unforgettable moment. My brother played me a trance track one day, and it was like a switch flipped in my mind. The hypnotic beats and ethereal melodies resonated with something deep inside me—it felt like I’d discovered a whole new dimension of sound. That one song sparked a fascination with the genre, and I started exploring more, diving into the emotions and energy trance music can evoke. It’s incredible how a single moment can shape your creative path. Since then, I’ve been on a mission to craft my sonic journeys and share that same feeling with others.
How do you craft your sets to take listeners on such a transformative journey?
Lekë C: "I craft my sets as if painting a vivid sonic canvas. Each track is a brushstroke, and together they form an intricate masterpiece that engages the mind and the body. I begin with grounding rhythms to create a strong foundation, then gradually build with hypnotic melodies and unexpected shifts, inviting listeners to dive into a journey of discovery and transformation. The key is balance: moments of intensity to elevate, followed by calm spaces to reflect and breathe. I see it as guiding listeners through a sonic landscape where they can lose themselves and emerge transformed, carrying the energy of the journey long after the music fades.
What was the first trance track that truly moved you and made you realize this was your calling?
Lekë C: The first track that truly moved me was "Formula - Quarzo." Its energy and progression sparked something deep inside me, making me realize that trance was my calling.
Kosovo is a small but vibrant place for music. How has growing up or spending time here shaped your relationship with trance music?
Lekë C: Some trance tracks feel like a day in the life of Kosovo. You start off calmly, enjoying the peace, but then you remember you're in Kosovo, where things don't always go as planned. The rhythm builds and builds, mirroring the unpredictability, until the end of the day when everything starts to settle back into calmness.
Being an artist can be an intense journey. Have there been moments where you doubted yourself? If so, what kept you going and believing in your music?
Lekë C: Yes, there have been times when I doubted myself along this journey. But my love for trance music never let me stop. It’s that deep connection to the genre that keeps me moving forward, even in the toughest moments, reminding me why I started and why I can’t let go of this passion.
You’ve mentioned the number 16 keeps appearing in your journey. Can you tell us more about its significance and how it connects to your creative process or we just need to listen to your set? :)
Lekë C: The number 16 has a unique significance in my creative process. It often feels like a subtle influence that shapes how I approach my music, bringing both challenges and growth. Sometimes it’s the source of obstacles, but it also fuels my passion and determination to push forward. It’s something that keeps showing up, guiding me in unexpected ways as I continue evolving.
Finally, what do you think the future holds for the trance scene in Kosovo and the Balkans?
Lekë C: The future of the trance scene in Kosovo faces some obstacles. Trance music is often misunderstood and labeled as "drug users' music," while rap dominates the scene and is more widely accepted. This cultural bias can make it difficult for trance to grow. However, with the right dedication, I believe the scene can still develop, showing that trance is about connection and energy, not just stereotypes. It’s a challenge, but one that can be overcome with passion and persistence.
