Zone Club is one of the winners of the Ambassador Award
The Ambassador Award was awarded in 35 categories for achievements in electronic music culture, and one of the winners was Prishtina’s Zone Club.
The eighth awarding ceremony of the first and only independent award for electronic music "Ambassador" was held in Zagreb's KUC Travno.
The ceremony was opened with the "Totalka" exhibition by renowned photographer Marko Obradović Edge, who presented his work. With his lens, Marko captured the moments that convey the energy and emotion of the best events of electronic music culture. But the special feature accompanying the exhibition was a photo auction where funds were collected for the Rijeka Club Manual.
During the exhibition, the visitors were introduced to the work of the "Terra" Association from Rijeka, which deals with reducing health damage during night outs in Croatia. Their project "Tripsitters" won the Ambassador's Award for a special contribution to the scene, a program of a preventive and educational nature about recreational and intoxicating substances, through stations at festivals, concerts, and other frequent places where young people go out.
At the awarding ceremony of the Ambassador Award, the founder, Goran Tomašević pointed out:
"We have fulfilled one big goal, which is to gather artists & members of the electronic music industry in Croatia and the region. In this way, we connect the entire scene, work on international cultural cooperation, and ultimately serve as a platform for networking and exchange of ideas. Keep being creative and original, and we are here to follow, encourage, motivate and finally reward."
In the most prestigious categories of the event industry, the "Sonus" festival in Zrče was declared the best regional festival, while the "Mo:Dem" festival was chosen by the audience as the best festival by the Croatian promoter.
Two categories for which there is great interest from year to year are those for DJ of the year in Croatia and the region. The title of DJ of the year in Croatia went to DJ Jock, while Runy received the same award at the regional level.
It was also interesting among the regional awards where, among other things, Andrew Meller was awarded for house release of the year, Billain for bass release of the year, and Sassji received the award for album of the year.
And the prize for the best regional club of the year went to Prishtina’s electronic music club "Zone", the only one in Kosovo that has participated in the maintenance and development of the electronic music cultural scene with its music program for 14 years. The award was received by one of the owners of Zone Club, Kushtrim Sahiti, and the program director Kreshnik Gjikokaj, who does his job with love and tries to ensure that the Zone Club's program is filled with performances by world-famous electronic music artists.
"Thank you to the organizers, and to everyone who voted for Zone Club! We take this award as a responsibility to do more and offer more in all aspects. See you at the Zone Club!” - stated the PR and program director Zone Club, Kreshnik Gjikokaj.
The award was presented by the journalist and one of the founders of Kosovo Clubbing portal, Mirjana Radovanović, better known as techno artist under the name Flekitza.
"I am proud that we managed to present artists, organizations, and all those who are involved in Kosovo’s electronic music scene so, in addition to the Zone Club that won the award for the best regional club of the year, we had nominees for the regional electronic music event of the year, Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra with Derrick May and for the graphic design of the year, Don Dobruna for his work on the Independence Night project. I expect that next year we will have Kosovo representatives in all regional categories," - said Mirjana Radovanović.
"The Cultural Center Travno in Zagreb before, during and after the awarding of the Ambassador award turned into a festival of socializing and celebrating the culture of electronic music. After 5 months of work on the project, a lot of energy was invested to hold the eighth edition, in which over 40 creatives were involved. Artists & members of the scene showered us with praise, especially after we hired new presenters and raised the production level" - said the founder of the Ambassador Award, Goran Tomašević.
When asked what he is preparing for the next edition of the Ambassador Award, Tomašević adds:
"We continue thinking about how and in what way we can improve the 9th edition of the awards in all segments, from production and promotion to the program content itself. It's nice when so many people gather in one place and when you get praise after so many months of work invested in something you build with your heart together with your team"
During the "Ambassador" ceremony, there were also indoor games, where visitors won prizes such as canvas tote bags, rolled filters and filter tubes, as well as the appropriate accessories that are necessary and very practical for performing the smoking ritual, brand "GIZEH", a company founded in 1920 , which is now one of the three largest and leading manufacturers in the smoking equipment section.
The renowned musician from Tuzla won the Ambassador Award for the second year in a row, and this time, when receiving the award, she said:
"Last year I announced this album, and now I'm getting an award for it!" That's the top for me. Most of all thanks to the people for taking the time to listen to Chwakku.”
The Slovenian HardBeats festival was awarded as the regional event of the year, and the photo "MessI" taken by Miloš Krstić Trip Flip at the Exit festival became the festival photo of the year.
In addition to the awarding of this year's laureates, the evening of the ambassador's award was enhanced by musical and artistic performances.
The project Folklorelektro first introduced itself to the audience with its unique DJ set, which combines traditional & electronic music. The disco band Groovetastic also played in front of the audience, while SUN U premiered their new song "Inside".
The evening was closed by the renowned duo Dalton Trance Teleport ft. Koorie with an impressive live performance of "Beirut in Dub".
The Ambassador Award is awarded by the specialized electronic music portal Klubska Scena, and the project is implemented by the Klubska Kultura association.
The award was supported by Burn Energy and Gizeh.
