The 'Glazbeni Skup' Conference Kicks Off Today, Dubrovnik, Croacia

Today, Dubrovnik has become the center of the regional music scene with the opening of the second edition of the 'Glazbeni Skup' conference. Through panels, discussions, and workshops, participants are given a space for creative exchange and professional growth.

The goal of 'Glazbeni Skup' goes beyond an annual gathering – it serves as a vital platform for supporting both emerging and established music professionals, with a special emphasis on fostering creativity and artistry in this part of Europe.

The program includes a rich array of lectures and workshops on topics such as mental health, creative challenges for musicians from remote areas, and global success stories achieved through a DIY approach to production and promotion.

Today’s program began with an essential talk at 12:00 titled “Staying Inspired: Mental Health as a Key to Success in the Music Industry,” featuring renowned experts Hrvoje Marković, Dario Kulišić, Suada Salčić, and Haris Čustović. They discussed the psychological challenges musicians face and how to cope with the pressures of the industry.

Later in the day, the 13:30 panel "Music Without Borders" delved into the challenges faced by musicians outside urban centers. At 15:00, a special lecture by Professor Matej Dimlić, titled "Rebels With a Course," offered insights into the future of creative education in the UK and globally.

The evening program concludes with a showcase event at Lazareti Club, where attendees can enjoy performances by regional musicians and DJs.

The event is organized by AVAL in collaboration with the Community of Technical Culture of the City of Dubrovnik, concluding a series of audio production workshops funded by the City of Dubrovnik's 2023 public needs program. 'Glazbeni Skup' has already made an impact on its opening day, and the upcoming program promises further inspiration and opportunities for music professionals and enthusiasts.

The conference continues tomorrow with a series of workshops, including the popular audio production workshop starting at 14:00, which will focus on hands-on techniques using Ableton Live.
