Over 1,500 DJs from around the world have signed a petition to remove single-use plastic from the music industry

The movement, called Bye Bye Plastic, was founded by Vivie-Ann Bakos, also known as Blond:ish, and has gained support from well-known DJs such as Richie Hawtin, Honey Dijon, and Pete Tong, among others. The initiative aims to eliminate the use of plastic in DJ booths and has been named "#PlasticFreeParty".

DJs who signed the petition have pledged to adhere to the rule that prohibits the use of single-use plastic in the DJ booth. Founder Vivie-Ann Bakos says that change is driven by movements and that music is the secret ingredient in creating such movements.

She believes that music can bind and unite people, and that it should be used for infinite good.

This movement is part of a larger trend in the music industry, with festivals around the world launching initiatives to reduce the use of plastic packaging.

Ibiza, known for setting trends in the industry, has also started taking steps towards reducing single-use plastic. As we move into 2020, it is expected that discussions about the removal of single-use plastics in the music industry will continue to gain momentum.

The Bye Bye Plastic movement is a step in the right direction towards a more sustainable future for the music industry.
