The Croatian Ministry of Health has banned the use of “gas for laughing”
The Ministry of Health has banned gas used by tourists in Pag on a massive drug charge. The ban is temporary and is valid until the end of the season, that is, until September 30.
For years, ampoules of nitrous oxide on Zrche have been popular. Discarded gas ampoules that can be used legally in Croatia can be found everywhere.
It is a gas that can be found in medicine as an anesthetic and in catering as a propellant for whipped cream. In addition to euphoria, nitrous oxide can cause mild hallucinations, and overuse increases the risk of fainting.
It can also cause vomiting, headache or drowsiness.
Combined with excessive amounts of alcohol or drugs can cause more serious consequences.
While not illegal, for example, there are several laws in the U.S. regarding the distribution of nitric oxide to minors and recreational inhalers.
Nitrogen oxide (which is extremely popular with young British) has long been debated in the UK, but in the end the court would still decide that this gas is illegal if used for recreational purposes.
