Review: A Night of Unforgettable Beats of Servis & Redo

SERVIS x REDO Night on October 7th at the Palace of Youth was nothing short of spectacular!  The lineup was a blend of talent, each artist delivering a performance that made the audience dance till dawn.  Ece Özel , the headliner, stole the show with her unpredictable set. Open public applications and nomination of candidates for the Ambassador Award 2023.

Applications are open for the seventh " Ambassador " award of the e lectronic scene for the top musical achievements of Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenia. This year, the public applications of projects and candidates , have been returned again. The expert jury, which fills in the pre-nomination lists and proposes projects, will once again have a great influence in compiling the nominations. The jury is made up of renowned players in the music industry, and consists of over 80 experts from Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Applications are open until 15.10. at 11:59 p.m., and the nominations will be announced on Tuesday, October 24. Documentary: Watch a feature-length documentary about the life of Laurent Garnier

The documentary features interviews with Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Miss Kittin and many other important actors from the electronic scene.  The European public service dedicated to culture ARTE published a feature-length documentary about the life of French DJ Laurent Garnier.  The story of the life, work and actions of the legendary Frenchman is called "Off the Record", was filmed between 2017 and 2019 and was originally released in cinemas in France in 2021, and was directed by Gabin Rivoire.  "Off the Record" in its ninety minutes brings an exclusive interview with Garnier, who reveals details from his childhood, youth, his first musical steps and the experience he gained in his long career.  The story of the legendary DJ is complemented by in-depth interviews with various greats of electronic music such as Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Miss Kittin and others.  You can watch the documentary for free on ARTE's online platform by clicking HERE . Croatia: Seventh Edition of the Ambasador of Electronic Music Awards Set to Honor 2023 Achievements

Study of electronic music: 20% live from the industry; 35% earn part-time; 45% have no income

In its comprehensive survey of the electronic music industry, the International Music Summit presented interesting statistics and results  Among the numerous creators, DJs, producers and other actors of the electronic scene, only 20% of them can make a living from the industry. 35% of them earn part-time from electronic music, while 45% of actors have no income from the industry.  One thing that connects them all is that electronic music is not just a hobby for them, but a real passion from which they want to create a career and earn money. Investigating the statistics in more detail, IMS discovered that the average earnings of creators in electronic music is slightly less than 9,500 US dollars annually, while in some other music industries it amounts to several thousand dollars more.  Almost 47% of that income comes from streaming platforms, and 34% of respondents revealed that they had an increase in income compared to last year.  As for the problems and challenges that musicians

Documentary Film: "How Techno Was Born: From Detroit to Berlin and Back"

 A new documentary explores how the techno genre spread from Detroit to Berlin, which is today's epicenter of techno. The film features interviews with some of the most significant figures from the early days of the techno scene: Juan Atkins, Alan Oldham (DJ T-1000), Ellen Allien, and Tresor founder Dimitri Hegemann. EXIT2023: Visitors Unite in the Desire to Return to EXIT Festival Yearly!

EXIT 2023: Focus on Mental Health and Ecology

EXIT Festival 2023 shines a light on vital issues, promoting mental health and ecological consciousness. Following their successful spring release "1987," the Istrian duo continued their quality work in the studio. Poreč-based Techno duo DBFB has released a new EP called " Stones " on their own label, After Us Records.  With the "Stones" EP, DBFB presents four new groovy tracks in the style of Detroit techno with avant-garde funk influences.  The new EP consists of four tracks - two original mixes, "Small Stone" and "Stepping Stone," along with two remixes by Orion and Philippe Petit.  Finnish DJ, producer, and radio host Orion has created a remix for the track "Small Stone."  Belgian DJ and producer Philippe Petit takes listeners on an avant-garde SF-funk adventure with his remix of "Stepping Stone," crafted for the summer.  The remix is an atypical combination of techno with pronounced organic melodic elements akin to guitar, almost resembling tango.  The EP "Stones" i s currently available for listenin
