Ambassador Award 2023 - KUJU Studio from Kosovo for the "Best Art Production of the Year"

Q&A - Lag [Teskoba, SR]

* Hi Lag, thank you for your time, and for the interview. Can you give us a short introduction to you?  L: Hi, I’m Lag. I’m a Serbian producer of, well, mostly broken techno. I release on MORD, THEM and a few other labels. I also DJ, mostly around Europe, although I just came back from a US tour. Your latest releases on: Mord Records / Unkown Entity / Stale / Soul Notes, were impressive as always.  * What inspires your production?  L: It really varies from track to track. I usually start with a genre or track that I really love and an idea. Most of my original music comes from a concept, a non-musical idea that I want to transfer to the musical form and most of the remixes come from how I've heard the sounds of the original in my head. I sometimes stick hard to what I had envisioned (which often makes the process long and tedious, but pays off in the end) but more often I lay down the original idea and start experimenting, seeing where that takes me.  * What equipment are you cur

Q & A with Artil [Mind+, KS]

* Hi Artil, thank you for your time, for the interview. Can you give us a short introduction to you & Mind+ ?  A: Thank you for inviting me to interview. I found out about electronic music in the early 2000s. For the first time, electronic-underground music here was brought from USA by Baton Domi, who used to be my electronic music lecturer. After a long time, I became interested in producing. In 2014, I launched my own record label (Mind + Records)  mainly focused on house & techno music, influenced by deep, dark & minimal. Mind + Records, it's also meant to be a booking agency for DJ's / Artists. Mind + releases, can be found at all digital stores, like: Beatport, Juno Download, Trackitdown, Itunes, Soundcloud etc.  * Your recent releases, on Mind+, Night and Day Ibiza Music, Patent Skillz, Mask Records, Little Italy Music, were satisfying and unique. What motivates you?  A: My motivation is always linked with my emotional & spiritual state. While producing

Q&A with Anetha [Blocaus, Reclaim Your City]

Anetha presented her music to Pristina clubbers at one of the events that Hapesira is organized, on 16 February 2017. The party was at the perfect location in Prishtina, the former Rilindja printing factory warehouse. This is the place in Kosovo that serves to organize cultural events with electronic music. This is a real rave warehouse. At this fifth event of Hapesira , Anetha performed immediately after the Ukrainian artist Etapp Kyle and played a perfect techno set. It was a pure techno mix with few acid tracks in it. She created perfect energy and was great at playing.  Below is a brief interview with Anetha.  • Hola Anetha, thanks for your time to answer some of our questions and to present you to Kosovo clubbers. Can you give us a short introduction about Blocaus Series?  A: Blocaus series is a French techno label created in 2016, as the next stage in our evolution after four successful years of hosting parties at various venues in Paris. Blocaus series as a record label is a

A Belgian Impression of Next level's 11th Anniversary with Rebekah!

Photo credit to  Petrit Rrahmani            After a long journey through Europe, we entered Kosovo. We decided to stop at the capital of Kosovo - Pristina. Surprisingly, we found out about  Next Level’s  “11th Anniversary” Event with the UK-born/Berlin-based DJ -  Rebekah . We decided to attend the event.            That night, the host -  Next level, celebrated it’s 11th anniversary , and hellboy, they know how to do it!!! When we entered the venue (ODA Theatre - in the center of Prishtina), we were welcomed by heavy Techno beats and a large LED video wall. Visualisation was so great and powerful! "Kosovo is on the top of techno scene and they really have very good clubbing life.               We were amazed and shocked, in a positive way of course, as this party was all you want for a night out! The 11 years of experience of “ Next leve l”, certainly showed us how the Electronic Music Scene in Kosovo is growing, in fact, the Techno scene, what we wouldn’t

Technics Announces Black SL-1200GR!

In a sleek, black colored, the latest SL-1200GR model will appear, team leader, Technics Director Michiko Ogawa, says: "Our goal was to expand our top range for audio enthusiasts as well as professional DJs." The emergence of the SL-1200GR turntable, which comes as an affordable version of its SL-1200G brother, was announced earlier this year at CES 2017 in the all-around desert city of light, shadow, desire, and risk, Las Vegas.  The release of director Ogawa once again confirms the commitment of her company to the DJ culture and marks the change of attitude compared to what Creative Director Hiro Morishita told New York Times the previous month, pushed DJs into the background as a clientele for a new line with a sentence: "Our concept is analogue to hi-fi listening list. DJs are all right, but as a marketing target problematic, we do not want 1200 to sell as the best DJ-ing tool 1200 is 1200. " - directing, of course, like a DJ funnel over some more expe

TMM Records Celebrates 10 Years

Later this month, the Kosovao based TMM Records reaches a revered landmark that many can only dream of. Ten years of top draw techno music under it’s belt and championing underground talent, it’s been a stable of creation first and foremost.  In celebration of this will see a twenty-track package of all-new material from new and returning artists. A distinct dancefloor sound can be heard in the spine of their extensive back catalog, where a balance of fun and seriousness which is hard to get right is delivered time and time again in abundance.  We caught up with label boss Vegim to discuss this milestone Q&A with Vegim by Jack! Who? for deathtechno.com  > Hi Vegim, thanks for taking the time to chat, can you give us a little introduction to yourself and TMM Records?  I am Vegim and I like to think that I make techno music , own a label, try to think positive in the most negative way possible and back and I like to watch when somebody fakes himself. TMMR is my home. I like to

Zoom Festival, Leposavic, Kosovo

It’s the “Zoom” festival organized by TMM records and Radio KFOR  And trust me, I have waited to overcome the bad feelings I had at the start of the party there. But somehow, I can’t get them out of my head. After the successful festival in Mitro “Feel the Peace” where everything was unbelievably super cool, with super young people who want to hang out and listen to music and in the hope that it would be the same in Leposavic, if not better, I was disappointed a little bit. You won’t believe me, but there are still people there that mix up some things, and I expected that in Mitro, but no, it happened in Leposavic. Even though the House of Culture was reserved for the festival, both with an oral and written agreement, and music was supposed to start at 8pm and go on till 4am. But, the karate players had to hold their three hour long training (till 10pm); otherwise they would have practiced karate on us. Then, before the party, a man, dead serious, told me that he is sure
