Humanitarians who came to ADE on bicycles collected 37 thousand pounds

Amsterdam Dance Event had a humanitarian character this year! A group of humanitarians traveled by bicycle to the capital of the Netherlands in order to collect money for the needy who want to play music, but have no way. Twenty-six artists and workers from the electronic music industry cycled for four days and covered more than 500 kilometers for humanitarian purposes. Through the traditional "ADE Cycle" campaign, humanitarians drove the route from London to Amsterdam to collect money for the "Bridges For Music" and "Choose Love" organizations. The cyclists started last Sunday and arrived right at the opening of the Amsterdam Dance Event on Wednesday. Despite bad weather, rain, faith, tired legs and minor injuries, all twenty-six cyclists completed the route and participated in raising £37,000. Tillt Radio  is a new record store in Prishtina, opened 1 year ago. Located at BOHO in Prishtina's square, Tillt Radio record store is a very  warm place  where you can go  hang out , dig the crates for  vinyls  and enjoy  listening to music.  A while ago, I took a trip to Prishtina to meet a friend and surprise her with a vinyl from her favorite label, Klockworks I got for her birthday. That day was all about music and vinyls so, while i was there, i decided to go and visit Tillt Radio record store. I was very happy and excited for visiting the first record store in my life . I've bought vinyls before, from online record stores, but crate digging for vinyls, is a different feeling. There's nothing like crate digging! We needed a record store like Tillt Radio. I went there around 4 PM. I met Strella. He informed me about his record store and the genres he provides. There were various genres from pop, rock, blues to old electronic music. First artists for Unum festival 2022

 The Unum Festival is a cultural and musical event in a secret and untapped corner of Europe, nestled between pine forests, lighted beaches and a mountainous landscape in the city of Shenjin, Albania. Nina Kraviz releases new single

Nina Kraviz has shared her new single, titled ‘Skyscrapers’ , which signals the artist’s first major release since 2019.  The newly released cut is taken from her forthcoming EP, with a full-length album to follow in 2022. According to its press release, ‘ Skyscrapers’ is billed as a ‘love song’, that sees Nina ‘exploring a new , more traditional approach to her songwriting , showcasing her talent as both a lyricist and performer’.  ‘I wrote ‘ Skyscrapers ’ on one of my long trips to a far away country,’ says Nina .  ‘It is a love song. It is about missing someone very much even if you don’t always get along and agree on things. Faithless releases first LP in 10 years "All Blassed"

UK Dance artists Faithless present their first studio album in ten years, ‘All Blessed’, released on BMG on 23 October.  ‘ All Blessed ’ includes the acclaimed recent single ‘ Synthesizer ’ ft Nathan Ball.  Other collaborations across the album’s twelve powerful tracks include Jazzie B, Suli Breaks, Gaika, Caleb Femi, L.S.K., and Damien Jurado.  Faithless said  “In this troubled and increasingly violent world, this album reflects what has always been the Faithless manifesto: be conscious, be caring, love yourself so you can love others and understand who you are and where you are. Documentary ‘Underplayed’ puts spotlight on gender inequality in electronic music

Underplayed is the feature debut of New Zealand-born director Stacey Lee , who has been shortlisted for the Cannes Young Directors Award. Documentary: Sisters with Transistors

New documentary "Sisters with Transistors" - prominent women, pioneers of electronic music. With a focus on some of the movement’s greatest collaborators such as Laurie Spiegel, Delia Derbyshire and Suzanne Ciani, the film titled “Sisters with Transistors” will premiere at London’s Barbican Theater on November 14th 2020.  Although electronic music is often perceived as a men's club, it is true from the very beginning that women were an important part of the invention of devices, techniques and styles that would define the form of sound in the years to come.  The aim of the film is to reveal an often neglected aspect of the history of electronic music. Burning Man 2020 - the virtual universe has launched online

Earlier this year, the announcement was made that Burning Man 2020 would not be taking place due to ongoing concerns amid to the coronavirus pandemic.  In place of this year's edition, Burning Man launched Kindling , a non-profit virtual events platform, and also released a movie “Burning Man: Art on Fire”.  Designed by ClipoLabs, Burning Man Multiverse hosted a week-long event in place of the festival, from 30th August to September 6th.  You can still visit the Multiverse by downloading the iOS and Android apps. Back in July, Burning Man hosted a virtual conference on environmental sustainability via Kindling .  In February, Burning Man announced they would be moving forward with suing the U.S. federal government.  The festival first filed the lawsuit against the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) back in December 2019, demanding that the government honor its appeals process in relation to costs that it imposes at the event. Study: Ravers Still Do Drugs At Home During Virtual Streaming Events

Ravers are using drugs at home during virtual events.  Although music venues have closed and dance music lovers are now watching shows from home, it seems that party-life will not be going away anytime soon.  Virtual events have become the new norm for ravers, as the current pandemic continues to threaten the entertainment industry.  People are now finding new ways to have fun in the safety of their own homes.  There is a new study, published in the International Journal of Drug Policy, that examines drug use at virtual raves and happy hours. 55.5 percent of them attend virtual events while 69.5 attend online happy hours.  To obtain this information, online surveys were issued in April and May 2020 by researchers at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and the Center for Drug Use and HIV/HCV Research at NYU School of Global Public Health. The first digital edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event

 The 25th edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event will take place from 21 to 25 October 2020, for the first time in digital format. This year's program also includes several COVID concerts with mandatory seating and physical distance, as well as intercultural projects called ADE Specials.   This part will be held in Amsterdam in cooperation with the city council. The latest announcement by the Dutch government about the clubs represents another blow to the electronic music industry, says project manager Jan-Willem van de Ven:  " Clubs and music venues form the backbone of Amsterdam's nightlife and are incredibly important in shaping and innovating the city's cultural identity, residents and visitors. Without them, electronic music loses an integral part of its culture and industry, and that is why it needs all the support of the government. New exhibition of electronic music and international club culture in London

A new exhibition called " Electronic " that explores global club culture and the impact of electronic music, is opening at London’s Design Museum  in April 2020. Featuring a soundtrack curated by Laurent Garnier, the exhibition will explore club culture in the UK, Berlin, Detroit, Paris and Chicago, as well as highlighting contributions from artists including Jeff Mills, Ellen Allien, Andreas Gursky and Jean-Michel Jarre. At the Design Museum, techno can be heard over speakers right from the start, and the space’s black walls, blue spotlights, mesh panels and bare scaffolding are clearly intended to evoke the club. Evoking the experience of being in a club, the exhibition will transport you through the people, art, design, technology and photography that have been shaping the electronic music landscape.  A new documentary called ‘Distant Dancefloors’ has been released by Pioneer DJ, detailing the economical, psychological and social impact COVID-19 has had on global club culture. Literally overnight, the entire music industry was shut down! Released on the 4th August, t he film offers a 360-insight into the consequences of the pandemic upon our industry.  With commentary from artists, industry experts and fans alike, we get to see how they have had no option but to adapt how they operate during these difficult times. The Netherlands: Festivals and mass events will not be able to take place until the vaccine is invented

According to a Dutch portal, large festivals and mass events in that country will not be able to be organized until a vaccine against coronavirus is found.  This is the latest news that comes as a result of the development of a government strategy in the fight against this covid pandemic, and the Minister of Health Hugo de Jonge addressed the public.  "We cannot specify the date of the last phase of normalization of life and the beginning of the realization of major events at the national level. They can be held only when the vaccine is ready, and at this point no one knows how long it will take."  "Hopefully very soon, but a year or so . It is some realistic assumption."  Rotterdam is Rave.  Rotterdam is Techno.  The list of measures presented by the Dutch government says that mass events are banned until September 1 for now.   Professional football is planned to continue on that date but without an audience. Amsterdam Dance Event gears up for 25th edition and returns to Felix Meritis in 2020

Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) , the world’s leading conference and festival for electronic music and its associated industries, is gearing up for its 25th anniversary edition which will take place from 21st to 25th October 2020.  As part of the celebration, the organization is taking the ADE Pro conference back to its “home base”, Felix Meritis on the Amsterdam canals.  Between 1999 and 2016, eighteen editions of the ADE conference were hosted at Felix Meritis.  While the venue was closed to undergo major renovations, the organization found a temporary home in DeLaMar Theater near the popular Leidseplein.  “Felix Meritis is one of the most iconic cultural landmarks on the Amsterdam canals. Italian club Cocoricò to reopen with new name after eight-month closure

The Rimini venue, which shut in June 2019 after a 30-year run, is now called Le Cocorico Riccione, AKA Cocco. The Italian club Cocoricò will reopen on 12th April 2020 with a new name. The venue closed as a result of being declared bankrupt in June 2019 after a 30-year run. On April 12th, Cocoricò will open its doors again for the relaunch party called, "Everybody calls me Cocco," a short version of its new name, Le Cocorico Riccione.  The lineup for reopening night, which starts at 11 PM and will go till 6 AM, and future programming are still TBA. Known for its glass pyramid roof, Cocoricò was one of the most famous clubs in Europe at its height. It had originally opened as a restaurant in 1989, later hosting the likes of Carl Cox, Tale Of Us, Richie Hawtin, Juan Atkins and Fatboy Slim over the years. Watch a teaser for the reopening party. Love International announces Barbarella's parties for 2020 festival

The Croatian festival's designated after-hours spot in Pirovac will be open for seven nights beginning Wednesday,  July 15th, through Tuesday, July 21st.  Love International has revealed this year's Barbarella's Discotheque lineups.  With six areas now to choose from – from the glorious waterside Beach Bar , the stunning shaded Olive Grove which once more came into its own, the larger Main Stage in the center of the site, the incredible boat parties, the intimate Terezza and of course the mesmeric fully-open air Barbarella’s –  Love International created a sublime festival and holiday experience for all who came.  See the lineups and see ya while you are dancing :) source: RA
