EXIT Festival and Visa are opening the Play at EXIT competition for the selection of four new author bands or performers who will perform on the Visa Fusion Stage , from July 8 to 11 , as a part of the big celebration of two decades of the Exit Festival in Novi Sad.   Bands and musicians can apply via the app on this link from June 5th to 15th.  After that, the selection team, composed of multi-year EXIT program managers, will select four names.  A collective of festivals and non-governmental organizations have launched Green Europe Experience (GEX) , an initiative working to create a more eco-friendly future for music and arts festivals.  Portugal’s Boom Festival, Dour Festival in Belgium, Pohoda Festival in Slovakia and French event We Love Green have teamed up with sustainability groups A Greener Festival (AGF) in the UK and Germany’s Go Group in Germany as the co-initiators of GEX.  “In the middle of these demanding times, we feel an even stronger urge to use this special moment in history to take a deep breath and work towards healing our connection with this planet ,” reads a statement from GEX initiators.  “We understand that the big challenges ahead can only be addressed in a co-creation process.”  Using the two main focal points of scenography – festival decor, artwork, installations, design and signage – and food, GEX will work on developing ways to allow festivals to become fully circular through a process of

 The multimedia platform “Platform081” was created with the aim of being a link for all young creative people who want to contribute their art to the development of culture during the pandemic.  This platform is a place to meet and create new creative industries in Montenegro.  Pandemia co19 was fatal for the culture, but this platform, through live streams, connected performers with the audience and created space for art to live in times of crisis. New Year’s Eve (NYE) events were held as usual in New Zealand (NZ), with festivals welcoming tens of thousands of people to celebrate without social distancing.  Thanks to strict lockdowns and border closures which have all but eliminated Covid-19 in NZ, residents were able to enjoy a full return to live at mammoth NYE events.  NZ’s largest festival, Live Nation-owned Rhythm and Vines , welcomed 20,000 people to the Gisborne site between 29–31 December where social distancing and mask-wearing was not required.  The 18th edition of the music and camping festival – founded in 2003 by University of Otago friends Hamish Pinkham, Tom Gibson, and Andrew Witters – delivered sets from artists including Benee, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Broods, The Beths and Netsky.  Elsewhere, Rhythm & Alps celebrated its 10th anniversary by inviting 10,000 people to Wanaka, a resort town on NZ’s South Island, for three days of non-socially distanced festivities.  The event took place between 29 and 31 December,

Earlier this year, the announcement was made that Burning Man 2020 would not be taking place due to ongoing concerns amid to the coronavirus pandemic.  In place of this year's edition, Burning Man launched Kindling , a non-profit virtual events platform, and also released a movie “Burning Man: Art on Fire”.  Designed by ClipoLabs, Burning Man Multiverse hosted a week-long event in place of the festival, from 30th August to September 6th.  You can still visit the Multiverse by downloading the iOS and Android apps. Back in July, Burning Man hosted a virtual conference on environmental sustainability via Kindling .  In February, Burning Man announced they would be moving forward with suing the U.S. federal government.  The festival first filed the lawsuit against the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) back in December 2019, demanding that the government honor its appeals process in relation to costs that it imposes at the event.  The 25th edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event will take place from 21 to 25 October 2020, for the first time in digital format. This year's program also includes several COVID concerts with mandatory seating and physical distance, as well as intercultural projects called ADE Specials.   This part will be held in Amsterdam in cooperation with the city council. It’s official!  EXIT Festival’s 20th Anniversary edition will take place from 13th to 16th August 2020  After the epidemic ended in most of the countries in the Balkans, the Serbian Prime Minister asked EXIT Festival not to cancel, but instead, take place later i n the summer.  This news shook the music industry last week and provided much-needed hope for the return of live music events.  Now, after additional consultations, the new dates for the 20th birthday of the world renowned Serbian festival are finally set from 13 to 16 August this year!  The Exit team announced that the whole event will be organised in close cooperation with the National Health Coordination team and they will follow all health and government guidelines.  As one of the measures, the festival capacity will be reduced and some of the moats and trenches that host around 40 stages and zones will remain closed.  The ticket sales will restart on June 1st with all details including refund options as well as the updat

The fund of 30 milions euros is the first of four aid phases aimed at protecting museums, nightclubs, orchestras, cabarets as compensation for the time they were unable to sell tickets.
