Berlin boat demo turns into rave

More than a thousand people took part in a rubber dinghy demo in Berlin  to support the city’s struggling club culture, an event which quickly turned into a party . Around 1,500 people ( police estimates) gathered at Berlin’s Landwehr Canal, lining the banks and filling the body of water with yachts, canoes and small inflatable boats.  People cramped into the packed canal partying with music , but not many face masks at all. The event was organised by club collective Rebellion der Träumer to support Berlin’s hard hit nightclubs, who have been unable to open their doors since the Covid-19 health crisis began. The group, which said the demonstration was organised with an alliance of different initiatives and clubs, said it had chosen to host the event on water "in order to minimize the risk of infection as much as possible". Berlin plans parties in parks and streets to revive techno scene

Ramona Pop,   Berlin economics minister,  sent a letter to district mayors calling on them to find parks, streets, squares and sports halls that would make suitable venues, so techno clubs can come back to life during the corona scare. "Berlin misses its diverse club scene. Clubs and bars are suffering economically during the corona crisis. That's why, in addition to providing immediate aid, we want to create legal opportunities to party in public areas for the clubs and Berliners," she said.  All clubs had to close their doors at the beginning of the epidemic on March 14th. There is still no news on when they will be allowed to fully reopen but some have started to offer small outdoor parties. [ source ]

The first German rave since coronavirus

Coconut Beach Club In Münster, Germany , opened its doors to open air party with Gerd Janson on May 21th 2020. The event had a total of 100 attendees, as many as are currently allowed, while the club can normally accommodate 1500 to 2000 people.  The ticket price was € 70 , and as measures are relaxed, the plan is to increase the club's capacity to 250 people with much cheaper tickets.  The party was approved and held under strict measures and rules of coronavirus defense, and it looks like this:  - mandatory protective mask;  - everyone gets their circle on the dance floor, marked with chalk or artificial grass in which they can dance;  - everyone has their place at the table; physical distance 1.5 meters. In their own circle party members were able to take off their masks so that they would not endanger anyone.  Club manager Thomas Pieper told WDR that there is no profit from such events.  The goal of the party was to cover expenses and show signs of life.  This event was jus

French government proposes new 'anti-rave' law

The Senate has formally proposed a new law that will interfere with the survival of the scene in that country. The law provides that every organizer must adapt to the new "precautions" that require him to meet with the mayor at least one month before the event. They are also seeking a reduction in volume and noise parameters, new administrative deadlines and other difficult criteria to apply. This law is reminiscent of the UK law of the 90s which was then in force at illegal parties. Currently, the problem is to get all the permits and authorizations, but with the new law it will be almost impossible for one average young organizer to embark on such obligations. Penalties for breaching the law are £ 3750 and / or seizing equipment that is expensive. They believe that the law will contribute to the overall better lifestyle of the stat. Club owners, organizers and promoters complain that no one involves them in the discussions and issues that affect them, s
