The Sunny Hill Festival will stay in Pristina

Awesome news! It blew my mind, indeed! 😍 Sunny Hill Music Festival will be held in Pristina from August 4 to 7, although the organizers previously announced that it will be moved to Tirana, and the reason is that they failed to get 17 hectares of land in the Kosovo capital for 99 years.... hmmm I can only say that the Sunny Hill fans are not interested in this at all, because it is only important for us to have cultural events in our city, especially after the years of the pandemic. The Sunny Hill Festival was held in Pristina for the first time in 2018, and then again in 2019. The 2020 edition was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Festival has hosted some of the world's biggest music names, including Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, Action Bronson and dozens of other artists.  This edition of the festival will be held in Germia Park. Due to space limitations in Germia Park, Sunny Hill Festival this year will have a limited capacity of partici

NYE festivals were held in New Zealand without masks and physical distance

New Year’s Eve (NYE) events were held as usual in New Zealand (NZ), with festivals welcoming tens of thousands of people to celebrate without social distancing.  Thanks to strict lockdowns and border closures which have all but eliminated Covid-19 in NZ, residents were able to enjoy a full return to live at mammoth NYE events.  NZ’s largest festival, Live Nation-owned Rhythm and Vines , welcomed 20,000 people to the Gisborne site between 29–31 December where social distancing and mask-wearing was not required.  The 18th edition of the music and camping festival – founded in 2003 by University of Otago friends Hamish Pinkham, Tom Gibson, and Andrew Witters – delivered sets from artists including Benee, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Broods, The Beths and Netsky.  Elsewhere, Rhythm & Alps celebrated its 10th anniversary by inviting 10,000 people to Wanaka, a resort town on NZ’s South Island, for three days of non-socially distanced festivities.  The event took place between 29 and 31 December,

The Albanian government has approved rapid Covid testing for Unum Festival 2021!!!! Located on the beaches of Shenghin on the Albanian Riviera, the festival have undergone “careful discussions” with the Ministry of Tourism and Environment and the Ministry of Health who have now approved the use of rapid Covid-19 testing for 2021.  Albania is the first county in the world to approve of testing for social and cultural events.  According to a press release, “The advancing technology and accuracy of rapid tests currently allows for results within 10-15 minutes, which is all that would be required to ensure you can enjoy the festival in the way it should be enjoyed . On top of that, vaccines will likely have arrived early next year so that plans for this small, perfectly formed festival are now well underway, all with the support and backing of the Albanian government.” The inaugural Unum Festiva l was held in 2019 , welcoming Ricardo Villalobos, Margaret Dygas, Sonja Moonear, Zip

Techno clubs recognised as concerts by German high court

Techno and house events now qualify as concerts following the ruling of a German high finance court.  Clubs now only have to pay a 7% tax on ticket sales whereas previously they needed to fork over 19% .  So long as a club’s average visitor is there for the music, said the court, its owners qualify for the tax cut.  Accordingly, the law now formally recognizes DJs as musicians and techno as music. CDJs, turntables and mixers are also now defined as instruments. Alcohol sales have no bearing on a club’s eligibility.  The judgement was handed down on July 23rd but only published on October 29th. The legislation speaks to German lawmakers continued recognition of electronic music’s cultural value; in 2016 Berghain saw a similar tax break after a court deemed it “high art.”  Meanwhile, bars, clubs and venues in Germany will be forced to close from November 2nd-30th on account of a fall COVID-19 resurgence throughout much of Europe. New festival of continental Croatia - Crazy Island Festival

The coronavirus pandemic has slowed some festivals, stopped others completely, but also started some.  In the north of Croatia, a new festival of electronic music, Crazy Island Festival, will be held on August 7th and 8th, 2020.  And this is a new opportunity for dancing. As the organizers say, "we wanted something new, something crazy and wild, something with which we will be able to show the audience that it is okay to be different. Crazy Island is a place where everyone is welcome, a place where everyone can feel at home." What makes the Crazy Island Festival stand out is the location.  On the Island of Youth in Ludbreg, right in the city center, in an oasis of greenery . Separated from the main streets by a bridge, Mladost Island is an ideal place for concerts and festivals. You are obviously in the center of the city, and you have the feeling that you are miles away.  The audience at the festival will be entertained by now well-known names from the industry: Lukas Inne

The Enduring Appeal of EXIT - Europe's Ultimate Bucket List Festival

EXIT is a special festival with such an enduring appeal. Here are six reasons why it’s a must on the annual festival calendar.  EXIT Festival 2019 will take place from 4th to 7th July 2019 EXIT Festival in Serbia’s second city of Novi Sad has become one of Europe’s most famous festivals, with a reputation as an essential rite-of-passage weekender. As it approaches its 20th birthday in 2020, the festival is still innovating and branching out – but it will never forget its initial ethos of freedom, social change and youth rebellion at the beginning of the millennium.  1. A force for social change Not many modern festivals have a backstory beyond a commercial enterprise, but EXIT was formed in the spirit of genuine youth rebellion .
