PARTY REVIEW: TKNO at club Basstore, Prishtina, Kosovo

Pristina is becoming one of the favorite destinations for me!                 If you ask me, why, here's the answer!                 On December 16th, “ Next Level ” organization hosted a very good party at  BASStore club  in Prishtina with one of the most current techno DJs from Serbia,  TKNO !                 Again, a small but selected team of clubbers from Novi Pazar and Pristina gathered at  club Basstore . We got in the club, around 2:30am when  TKNO  already was spinning at dj booth.                 BASStore  is one of the underground club these days. Very good sound system, new one, as far as I could note from the last party, but in my opinion it was too much for that club. The sound was super massive at the dance floor.                Audience at  Basstore Club  that night, was again diverse, which is very interesting for me as a clubber following electronic scene for 20 years. Although, by statistic Kosovo has more women than for men, the boys

PARTY REVIEW: Independence Night with Dj Tennis, David Squillace, Alban Hajdini @ Zone Club, Prishtina, KS

I was  clubbing in Prishtina  for the first time in 20 years :) I had heard that  clubbing on Kosovo  was very developed and following the world electronic scene. And it was true!              I had the chance to meet and see contemporary cult places of today's underground scene:  Rilindjia ,  Bahnhof ,  BASStore  and all of them have their own story!              But,  Zone Club  is a special place for me! A  club  that is full of emotions and good but odd, energetic. If you are familiar with quality music and all other accompanying elements, in fact, if you're a clubber, then  Zone Club  and its  Electronic Series  is for you!             The first time I visited  Zone Club , last winter, on  December 24th  with  Nastia  and  Hajdar Berisha ... was amazing!             And ... again I wanted to go back to this club, a club that has this strange, odd energy!             Last night was the night! Actually, the  Electronic Series Night of the Zone club

Review: Premiere | Vegim – Granit EP [TMM Records]

TMMR 210 , the next release from  Take More Music Records  features 4 original primetime techno cuts from the artist known as  Vegim . Bursting with energy and dynamics,  TMMR 210  showcases  Vegim’s  diverse and constantly evolving unique techno sound. Inaugurating this interstellar journey with  Absolutely Shifted , the first techno track on the release introduces a deep bass driven soundscape with superbly crafted percussions combined with extra-terrestrial melodies that immediately absorbs your attention. Adjusting route on this interstellar highway,  Distorted Key  changes direction by means of prefacing a drop beat bit crushed rhythm with a prominent throbbing bass, loaded with crisp percussions and interjected with the subtle inclusion of intercepted alien transmissions which add pace and urgency to the track. x Altering course once again,  Granit  delivers a solid 4 to the floor groove with elegant percussions fused with an eerie and interga

PARTY REVIEW: 11th Anniversary w/Rebekah, Rinia Rinia, Toton, Vegim & Flekitza / 15--09 / Teatri ODA, Prishtina-KS

An unforgettable event that will remain forever in our/Kosovo’s clubbers minds & in Kosovo’s Electronic music events history!  September 15,  Next Level  hosted a proper techno night with nowadays  Techno Lady - Rebekah , Rinia Rinia from Macedonia,  Toton ,  Vegim  &  Flekitza  - local support, from Prishtina, on the occasion of it’s 11th anniversary. The event took place at  Teatri ODA  - a private theatre in Prishtina. We went there around 11:00 PM, while Rinia Rinia from Skopje, was opening the night, with his tech house set, until around 00:30 AM. Afterwards,   Toton , took care of warming up the audience for   Rebekah’s  “ Live Hybrid Set ”, with his tech house/techno set. People were so warmed up for Rebekah! Very good set by   Toton ! Rebekah played a   “Live Hybrid”   techno set from 2:30 AM until 4:30 PM.   Rebekah’s “Live Hybrid Set”   was beyond perfect! She was 4 deck mixing, all the time, so maybe some of you can say it was so confusing, with

Party review: Seth Troxler at Zone Club in Prishtina, Kosovo

credits for pic:  Petrit Rrahmani Another weekend!!! And what a weekend! Great artists from Pristina’s underground scene warmed up the dance floor of the  Zone Club  on Bajram. Then the brilliant  Seth Trolex  took away the playful mass with his melodic 7 hour set. credits for pic:  Petrit Rrahmani My friends and I entered  Zone Club  at 2:30AM. We listened to tracks played by  Secret 47  with  Nappy G  on percussions. An interesting performance for the electronic scene but successful. Half an hour later, at exactly 03AM,  Seth Troxler  performed for 4 hours on the enclosed indoor stage. Then the party was moved outside to the open air terrasse of  Zone club. credits for pic:  Petrit Rrahmani Seth Troxler  played a further three hours from sunrise. Phenomenal experience! From 10AM,  Uran B.  (dj from Prishtina) spinned some great tracks for the audience who did not want to leave the sunny terrace of  Zone Club.   However, I did not stay until the end. It was enough danc

RA reviews: Vegim ‎- 'Breaking Point' [TMM records]

The last few years have seen a few regions outside Europe's main clubbing centres become hotspots for purist sounds. There's  Tbilisi , led by Bassiani, pushing no-nonsense techno. Then there's  Montevideo , with Phonotheque and its expert residents who spin electro, house and minimal. Thanks to Closer, you'll also find plenty of killer minimal in Kiev. And if  Vegim's   ' Breaking Point ' is anything to go by, there could be a scene brewing in Kosovo. A student of deep sounds,  Vegim's  output recalls the burrowing aesthetic of labels like Prologue, Semantica and Mote-Evolver, where steady groove meets precision synths and an ethereal touch. Vegim  covers an impressive range across  Breaking Point 's 15 tracks . It's grounded in club-ready techno, with beats that vary from straight and jacking to broken and complex, peppered with the kind of subtle acidic flourishes perfected by artists such as Donato Dozzy and Luke Slater. The track titl

Review: Nat H Lee at Basstore Club, Prishtina, KS

After a performance in 2014 at the  Pulse Festival in Pristina ,  Miss Nat H Lee , has spinned for Kosovo clubbers for the second time. This time she played at  BASSTORE , previously MHz, in Pristina on 15th April 2017. Warm up at that night was local  DJ Lilac , fine light techno, followed on the stage by  Tatu , a DJ from Albania. He played tech-house with a combination of dance music, while at the very end, performed  Miss Nat H Lee. With 4 hours of good grooves of  Nat’s  techno, the crowd danced until the early morning hours. You may have noted that some of the audience wasn’t interested in her harder sound, but later they adapted with to the vibrations and dance moves they received from dj booth and  Miss Nat H Lee. During performance  Nat H Lee , supported Kosovar artists, as she included  Vegim  and  Flekitza's  'Rumble in the Jungle"  as well as a couple other of Vegim’s tracks in her list that night. Again, Nathaly delighted the audience w

Zoom Festival, Leposavic, Kosovo

It’s the “Zoom” festival organized by TMM records and Radio KFOR  And trust me, I have waited to overcome the bad feelings I had at the start of the party there. But somehow, I can’t get them out of my head. After the successful festival in Mitro “Feel the Peace” where everything was unbelievably super cool, with super young people who want to hang out and listen to music and in the hope that it would be the same in Leposavic, if not better, I was disappointed a little bit. You won’t believe me, but there are still people there that mix up some things, and I expected that in Mitro, but no, it happened in Leposavic. Even though the House of Culture was reserved for the festival, both with an oral and written agreement, and music was supposed to start at 8pm and go on till 4am. But, the karate players had to hold their three hour long training (till 10pm); otherwise they would have practiced karate on us. Then, before the party, a man, dead serious, told me that he is sure
